CFE México
Emergency Structures for 115 kV Network – 21-Meter Sectional
The
challenge:
Following hurricane damage that compromised conventional towers and interrupted power supply, CFE Mexico urgently required reliable, rapidly deployable emergency structures for their 115 kV transmission network. The solution needed to meet strict technical specifications to ensure immediate restoration and long-term resilience.
Our Solution:
Fibratore responded with custom sectional FRP poles:
– Innovative design (two sections, easy transport/installation).
– Precision engineering (load >1678 kgf, safety/stability).
– Lightweight design (~650 kgf, rapid handling/installation).
– Superior resistance (corrosion/extreme weather). Custom design (taper 1:3, brown color).
Project
Results:
The implementation of Fibratore’s FRP poles for CFE in Mexico proved to be a successful and reliable solution:
– Successful Pilot Test (2012): Production and installation of 120 pilot units that met all design and weight specifications.
– Expanded Order (2014): Following the validation of performance, CFE extended the order to 600-700 additional units to cover national emergency structure needs.
– Proven Resistance in Hurricane Odín (2014): The installed FRP structures demonstrated exceptional resistance by showing no structural failures or damage after the impact of Hurricane Odín, validating their suitability for extreme weather conditions.
– Effective Emergency Solution: FRP poles became a crucial tool for rapidly and safely restoring electricity supply after severe weather events.
– Satisfied Client: CFE confirmed the quality, installation efficiency, and durability of Fibratore’s solutions.
